New Accent Lighting in the kitchen

After a trip to Big Lots with Mom and Stacey on Sunday, I had lights along the lines of what I had been looking around for.  After mom and I installed new speakers in her ’97 mustang we went inside and decided to work on these a little.  By about 9:00 Sunday night I had the stove side done and when I got home today I did the sink side.

Webcam Time Lapse

I used a couple programs on my Linux machine to string the images from my webcam together into a movie.  It is pretty cool, as it goes through a couple snows and thaws.

Fletcher’s Reply

I previously wrote a letter to Governer Fletcher about his pushing of Intelligent Design during his state of the commonwealth speech. I just got the reply and since the Governer (or more likely his staff) wants to continue to use old technology (my tax dollars at work, free versus paying postage) and actually mailed me a paper letter instead of just replying with the email address they had, I have to type it in. Any errors are probably mine.

Hill of Mencia

, some of her friends and I went to see Carlos Mencia at last night.  It was a great time and I think that he is probably the best comedy show that I have seen so far.

Ron White, Lewis Black and Ralphie May were all great shows and I had a good time, but Carlos was the first comedian that made me think he felt privileged to be there.  Him and his opener Josh both talked about things at WKU and BG throughout their acts.  It made you feel like he actually took some time to learn about the place that he was coming to.

Of course he talked a lot about different races and stereotypes and how they can be correct and wrong.  How Political Correctness is killing this country and tons of other stuff.  It was very funny AND very thought provoking, which is always a sign of a good comedian.

At the end he had them turn up the lights and he spent some time just taking questions from the audience and answering them.  For most of this part he was actually being more like his actual self and less like his “character”.

The show lasted about two and a half hours, so it was pretty long.

Definitely a good show.  If you get the chance to see him, I would highly recommend it.

Getting a Logitec Quickcam Zoom (Silver) to work on FC4

Since I could find a whole lot about how to do this correctly, I figured I would go ahead and get it down for anyone else that is looking for it.

The stock Fedora kernel has the pwc driver in it and it recognizes the camera, but it doesn’t seem to operate it correctly.  So I went to http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/files/ and downloaded the latest version of the .  You will also need the kernel-devel, make, gcc packages.

yum install kernel-devel make gcc

Should get them for you.

once you get those follow the instructions in http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/INSTALL.en

I would recommend rebooting after that rather than removing the module and inserting it back in.  It seemed to work better for me.  It seemed to come up and work for me after that.

I installed camE on the machine and configured it to upload images to my webpage.  It should be showing pictures of the world outside my now.

It won’t come out until the damage is done, just how bad these people are

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/04/science/04climate.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

I am not saying that it hasn’t happened before under some other administration, but this administration, just doesn’t care about anything except their talking points. They are going to hold intelligence back just to make their points.

UPDATE:

The Guy that is doing the censoring didn’t even graduate from College, but his resume says he did.
