Another car for the garage
I haven’t really posted about it yet, even though the pictures have been up in the gallery for a bit, but my mom and I bought a mustang convertible from a local girl. I was driving back to the office from one of the schools and happened to see it. I think we got a pretty good deal on it. It has had some work done to it, but almost all cars made in 1965 have had some I would say.
I have changed the spark plugs in it and the plug wires, the distributor cap, and the oil and oil filter. Changing the plugs seemed to help it a bit and Imon came down this weekend and we worked on getting the choke working correctly. It still runs a little rough, but I really think it is because the manifold coming off of the engine is warped and needs to be replaced. I could probably replace that, except the bolts are locked in there pretty tight and Imon didn’t think they would come out without breaking. That means that they would have to be drilled out of the block, which isn’t something I can do. So for right now that is getting left alone.
I am going to take a look at the gas tank and see if there is a problem with the float in there. If I can fix that then the gas gage should work correctly. The speedometer also has an issue, but I haven’t really gotten a chance to look at it yet. Mom also wants to change the carpet in the car and has a piece that she wants to try, so I am going to try and get the interior pulled out of it and fit that piece in there.
It is a nice looking car and I think we got a pretty good deal on it. It will be another one that will be fun to have and drive around. Once we get the manifold fixed it could almost be a parade car, because from five feet away it looks really perfect.
Pictures are in the gallery under the vehicles section and are located in the 65 Mustang album.

Letter to CNN
Wow all of the above options for errors apply here. Last night Jack Thompson was on one of your programs. He was talking about the lastest Football game from Midway and stated that the NFL wouldn’t even let their name be placed on it.
This statement has Jack’s editorial slant, and has information left out. The game by Midway was marketed without the NFL name, not because of its content, but because the NFL has signed an exclusivity contract with EA games and Midway cannot get the rights to the NFL brand. EA then made a game which has several bugs and errors in it. In response Midway created its own game to show the community that other people besides EA could make a football game.
Jack was either ignorant of this fact, or more likely choose to ignore it in order to make a more sensationalist statement. This is what he normally does and sadly this is why you have him on your programs.
For someone that speaks so much about the gaming community Jack really has no clue about events, games, and dynamics in the gaming community and his thoughts about the various games are not based in reality.
I hope that CNN can make an effort to end Jack’s 15 minutes of fame, for screaming and yelling about something that he doesn’t understand or comprehend.
As a sidenote I would also like to mention that Jack recently offered to give $10,000 to charity if someone made a very violent and abusive game that HE designed. People did make that game and then Jack decided that he was instead making a satirical comment, a la Swift’s Modest Proposal. He then blamed gamers for “Not getting it” when they ask him to go ahead and donate the money to charity and refused to donate any money. Instead the owners of http://www.penny-arcade.com donated the money in Jack’s name. Since then he has sent them harrassing emails, harrassed them by phone and tried to have them arrested. The people at Penny Arcade and their readers have helped to raise over half a million dollars for children’s hospitals, from gamers and Jack Thompson is trying to have them arrested. Now that is some information that was left out.
Thank you for your time and for correcting these errors on Jack’s part.

Another trip to Indiana
I spent some more time up in Indiana working on the car and spending some time with Jim and Sabra.
I did a bit of work on the car and helped Imon do some cleaning up in the garage and such. We ended up getting tires for the car and mounting them on the wheels that I had bought. I got some pictures of everything before I left and they are up in the 56 Chevy section of the gallery.
I also got some good pictures of Amber while we were at Jim and Sabra’s house. They are up in the Amber section.
