More 56 Chevy
I got to go up to Indiana over last weekend and the first of this week. I got to see a lot of the family and … blah… blah… blah… sorry I just couldn’t stay that interested in it all, when I knew there was a chance to work on the 56.
New pictures are in the 56 Chevy Album in the gallery. I took some of the bottom and stuff this time, since there were headers and such. There are a couple with it running too, though thinking about it now, I should have taken a movie instead, so that you could hear the sound of it firing and everything.
Unlike last time I went up there Imon is feeling a lot better and he also had a complete day off to show me what I should be doing. Sunday was rainy up there from the remains of hurricane Rita, so we spent pretty much the whole day in the garage working on the car, which was exactly what I wanted to do.

Hey Google, Index THIS!!!
After I got an email from someone in Germany talking about my post about Adaptec’s Junk Ass 1420SA, I got interested in how he got to me. Looking through the logs it looks like I have gotten a few hits from “Fedora Adaptec 1420SA“. So I went to google and did a search for it.
NUMBER ONE HIT BABY!!!
and I love that it shows up with the tag line from that article. Man now if only a few people from Adaptec would do that search perhaps they might wake up.

If you write shell scripts…
and you don’t already know about proccgi, then you are missing out. I like writing shell more than anything else, but the one big problem that I have had with them is there isn’t a decent way to parse submitted HTML FORM data in them. That was always Perl’s realm. Well now with this program my shell scripts can be CGI scripts easily.
When called in a script it parses all the FORM data and returns it to you as variables with the same name as what is in your HTML page.
It works great for me.
You know that is the really cool thing about using shell scripts for things. If you need some functionality that you don’t have, all you have to do is find a program for Linux that does what you need and then you can enhance your script with it. Their is no need to memorize the proper way to call it and the proper way to pass arguments to it and if you should dereference a pointer to it or not. Just feed it the info you need to it work with and wait for the output.
They may be slower, but they more than make up for that with the fact that I don’t have to search random includes and such trying to find a pre-built funtion and then read the source code for it to see if I need to pass 4 arguments or 6 plus the linked list reference… bleeck.

Disaster Recontruction Contracts Awarded
Here is a shocker some of the first contracts for rebuilding Katrina struck areas have been awarded and at least three of the companies that have won them have ties to the Bush Administration. Here is the biggie, a puppet company of Haliburtion is one of them.
Does this company just have its fingers in that many pots, or can they just not care that people know that Chaney gets kick backs from them?

Light them up boys!!!
It is nice to see people are finally starting to stand up to these idiots that are running the country right now. Too bad they waited until they got elected for that second term.
Sites and Videos like these make me feel that perhaps people are starting to come out of their stupor.
Timeline of goverment reaction
The Daily Show came back from vacation on Tuesday and I truly think that on Tuesday’s show Jon was so mad that he could hardly do the show.
BushCo is trying to push it off that people are attacking them because they are trying to “play politics” or “play the blame game”, does it seem impossible that people are attacking him because he fucked up? I can’t believe how fast he and his crew are out there with their talking points. Do they even try to act like they are speaking of their own mind?
Arrrghh!!! There is soooo much information showing that these guys are just fucking stupid and I wanted to write it all down, but I just can’t process it all and it seems dumb to take the time to write it all down because I am soooo freaking mad over it. I just hope finally… finally… maybe some of these people that have their heads up their asses about how dumb BushCo is and how sure they were that he was the better of the two for the job will pull out a little. I mean can anyone seriously think that Gore would have stayed on vacation for three days after this happened? Do you really think the person that everyone called the worlds oldest boyscout would be unprepared for something like this?
The US elected a Drunk, retarded, cowboy, oil baron, who ran all his companies into the ground and look what we have now: Record high gas prices, two wars, terrorist attacks, people dying because of pitiful response to a disaster, poor funding to programs that were doing well in 2000, more national debt, countless times catching these people lying, countless times of them astroturfing the media to make people forget they screwed up and lied… the list is endless. I wonder if it would be possible impeach these people on just pure incompetence.
AND!!! Now he is calling for a national day of prayer. Well lets forget the fact that prayer isn’t going to help these people eat, drink, live and recover their possesions. How about seperation of church and state? How does the president calling for the nation to take a day and pray fall under that?
ARRRRRRGGHHHH!!!!!!!

Adaptec 1420SA is JUNK!
Recently there was a post to Slashdot about a Podcast called “We Hate Tech” in which two guys (supposedly tech support) rant and rave about tech stuff.
I listened to a couple of the ‘casts and just never really got into it. It was a lot of bitching without a lot of content as to why. I have decided to do this in my own style, and I hope to avoid the baseless bitching while still telling people why not to use something.

Just stuff
I posted some more pictures of Poco in the gallery. I also snapped a couple of some of the helicopters that have been flying over the house. Lots of them headed south. I don’t know if they are doing any good or not, but it is what it is. These are the most common ones, but I have seen a Chinook too. The two helicopter pictures are in the misc section, but here is the best one probably.
