A couple weekends agao we got some good pictures of Julie at the farm and with the 56.  I thought I would post them up here.

I think the last one is great.  It should be entered into a contest or something, because it could win.

I hate to knock the Julie posts out of the top spot, but this is also cool news. Uncle Imon called me tonight and talked for a while about the 56 Chevy and sent some pictures. It looks great and I thought I would get the pictures up here for anyone that is interested in it.

Imon started on the paint for the 56 last weekend. On Monday he sent me pictures of it with the white on. 9270

Then last night he called and said that he had gotten the yellow on and that it looked really good.9290

I haven’t posted too much on it, because my uncle has been working on having a new house built, but lately he has really been working his butt off on the car.

When I was up there last I spent a day and sanded on it the old paint in order to rough it up so that new primer and paint would stick to it. He had been doing a great job on patching up any holes in the body and rebuilding a few trouble spots on it. I covered most of the area on the car while I was there.

After I left he went to work on getting the body work finished on it. After that he started with the primer.

Now he has started on putting the yellow on it. The front half of the car will be yellow and the top and rear of it will be white with maybe a little pearl in it. the split will be along the trim lines. You can sort of tell where those are at on the primed car because of the holes for the trim clips.

The dash is also going to be yellow as well as the trim pieces inside the car. I don’t know for sure what color the interior is going to be yet though.

He is doing a great job and I can’t wait to see it in person when I go up there for New Years.

I spent some more time up in Indiana working on the car and spending some time with Jim and Sabra.

I did a bit of work on the car and helped Imon do some cleaning up in the garage and such. We ended up getting tires for the car and mounting them on the wheels that I had bought. I got some pictures of everything before I left and they are up in the 56 Chevy section of the gallery.

I also got some good pictures of Amber while we were at Jim and Sabra’s house. They are up in the Amber section.

I got to go up to Indiana over last weekend and the first of this week. I got to see a lot of the family and … blah… blah… blah… sorry I just couldn’t stay that interested in it all, when I knew there was a chance to work on the 56.

New pictures are in the 56 Chevy Album in the gallery. I took some of the bottom and stuff this time, since there were headers and such. There are a couple with it running too, though thinking about it now, I should have taken a movie instead, so that you could hear the sound of it firing and everything.

Unlike last time I went up there Imon is feeling a lot better and he also had a complete day off to show me what I should be doing. Sunday was rainy up there from the remains of hurricane Rita, so we spent pretty much the whole day in the garage working on the car, which was exactly what I wanted to do.

I dropped some new pictures into the gallery. Mostly of the hot rod festival that we had last weekend at the farm. Dad is the photographer this time and not I. There are pictures of mom’s new (to her) mustang and some excellent ones of my uncle’s Corvette. Oh and of course there are the ‘56 pictures that I am slowly working my way through the process of captioning.

Check out the location of the corvette pictures that are located in water. Somewhat cool, is the fact that I think they are taken in the same location, just with 25+ years difference. Kinda nifty in my opinion.

Notice that this isn’t in the geek section. That is because this project had nothing to do with computers at all. I actually spent the most part of this week up in Indiana working on Dad’s old 56 Chevy with my uncle.
